Analyzes

Starting from the fertilized egg cell via cell differentiation up to highly specialized organ cells on the one hand and the adaptation of the body to its environment (surroundings) and its lifestyle up to diseases on the other hand are subject to epigenetic regulation. This regulation is crucial for a number of processes (see above), e.g. also in the biochemical processes in metabolism.

The dynamics of epigenetic regulation helps our body as a whole to adjust to changes in the environment (e.g. through toxins or climatic changes, also stress and psychological strain) in order to adapt the living conditions of the body. We call this "epigenetic experience", which is linked to the stored information of the DNA sequences.

For example, epigenetic changes to DNA can result in modulations to the methyl groups of cytosine. Other mechanisms include modifications at the phosphate and acetyl groups. These often lead to changes at the histones and thus affect the transcription of the correct DNA information into RNA.

We may even be able to pass on all of these epigenetic changes to our offspring, similar to the incorrect copying of DNA during cell division (mutations).

Such epigenetic changes are much more likely than mutations to lead to more severe diseases than previously thought, but are potentially reversible with an appropriate therapy.

The epigenome is also changed by other life factors:
By smoking, drugs, too much alcohol, stress, nutrition, sports activities, "cleaning power" of the cells (autophagy) and by many, many accompanying biochemical processes within the cell and especially through toxins.

The Goal of the IGL laboratory is to investigate which toxins from the environment (from food and additives, through inhalation, at work, from water, through cosmetics and many other potentially toxic sources) alter our epigenome. In the case of diseases resulting from this (neurological diseases, cancer, autoimmune processes and much more), we would like to offer help with the doctor through a meaningful graded diagnostic. With the most modern technology and high scientific level we are at your side!

The IGL laboratory has brought epigenetics out of the ivory tower of pure research into a clinical routine that has become applicable, interpretable and comprehensible for the physician.

Our spectrum of analysis (selection) includes, for example, for chronic fatique syndrome, muscular complaints or chronic pain, "burn-out", "foggy brain", etc.:

  • DNA adducts
  • cfDNA
  • NAD
  • ATP profile

For a special lymphocyte transformation test, which rather illuminates the predictive, toxicological than only the immunological side:

  • LTT up to 12 parameters and up to 24 parameters
  • optional with a toxicology panel (e.g. fungal toxins, heavy metals, pesticides, ect)

Antioxidant and detoxification system:

  • SOD 1-3
  • Glutathione panel

Fats, lipids, fatty acids:

  • Cardiolipin
  • Phosphatidylcholine

Often, however, the cause of a symptom or the causes of a disease are not clear, so we offer predefined profiles according to diseases or symptom complexes.
