Epigenetic Toxicology
Recognising and understanding environmentally induced epigenetic changes, which can also lead to adverse health outcomes, is crucial for protecting our health.
The IGL laboratory therefore investigates epigenetic mechanisms in the human life cycle. We evaluate the current evidence for environmentally induced epigenetic toxicity in human cells. In close contact with American institutions, we compare our routine and research results and process them in an own database.
There is a worldwide discussion on how to lead further scientific research towards a greater understanding of environmental toxicity in humans. This is our starting point, we summarise the routine diagnostic results from our work and investigate in daily results if and which regulatory mechanisms show epigenetic evidence.
